Is it wedding time yet???

I admit…I’m impatient! :-0

I can’t wait to start some serious planning, for me I guess that means the Hen Party…but with over a year to go I can’t be too keen.

If I had my own way the party would be booked and paid for any I’d be putting together Hen Party party bags as we speak but I have to remember that no everyone is as OCD as me when it come to planning.

The hen party Facebook group has attracted some good comments from the hens about what we’re doing so I am being patient & the next task is to send a “1 year to go” email to everyone….Whoo! Can’t wait! x

The bridesmaids will go to the ball

We have dresses!!!! :-D

The shopping trip on Saturday was a success, maybe too successful. I didn’t know fitting out 5 girls with dresses could be so easy.
The bride booked a personal shopper appointment and specified the colour dress she wanted.
As a result there were 4 different dresses there, 3 which we all agree we probably never would have picked from the shelf….but one of them was THE dress. :-)
Bridesmaid D couldn’t be there because she lives abroad but the bride had her measurements & her dress was bought for her to try on when she is home at Christmas.

Next it’s accessories and shoes…..BUT first it’s wedding dress shopping!!!! Eek!! How exciting, this has the be the best part of wedding planning. I often wonder if I would get away with going back to bridal shops & pretend to be getting married :-) At least this time the price tag isn’t my responsibility. Can’t wait!

I admit I’ve been bad

I have been so neglectful of this blog, life has taken over & I just haven’t found the time recently. That isn’t to say I haven’t thought about my bridesmaid duties or even mentally prepared blog posts over and over….there has just always been something to stop me putting pen to paper….well finger to iPhone actually :-)

The hen party plan has now been made into a Facebook group & the hens have been invited, the feedback so far is really good.

This Saturday the bride has arranged for all the bridesmaid to meet up & try on the dress she has in mind for us….it’ll also be the first time all the bridesmaids have met….I have no doubts that we will all get on, now just to make sure we all look fab in the dress :-)

What will the hens think?

Having planned what we think the bride will enjoy for her hen party I’ve now created a Facebook group for all the hens to view the plan.

Myself & bridesmaid H thought it’d be best to ‘tell’ them what we’re doing for the hen party rather than ‘ask’…”too many hens spoil the party plans” and all that.

So the group has been created and the other hens will be invited this week. I’m hoping everyone will agree that the plans are perfect, I can’t see there being any problems but at the same time I’m a little nervous….all the hens seem to know each other & I’m a little on the outside, Knowing the bride they’ll all be lovely, she’s a good judge of character ;-)

Watch this space….

A plan is born! :-)

Last week me & bridesmaid H met up for a chat about the hen party plans.

The bride has already said that she’d like a night away with an activity followed by a night out with “dress up” similar to a friends Hen party she went on recently.

Bridesmaid H & I both had the same idea….choose something that the bride hasn’t done before. Having been bridesmaid many time and attended countless number of hen parties the bride has already done…
Afternoon tea
Cupcake making
Can can dancing
Spa Day
Greece experience
Cocktail making….
…..the list goes on!

So we thought…how about….GO KARTING! :-) We are both sure the bride would love it and really won’t expect it.

The plan so far….
Summer half term 2013….absolutely necessary due to the number of teachers attending….
Manchester
Travel by train
Hotel stay
Afternoon Go Karting
Evening meal
Night out.

I’ve scoured the net and a number of ‘package hen sites” and sound the perfect package for £139 per person.

The next step is to consult the other hens & collect numbers….plenty of time for that yet. The final numbers aren’t needed until 5weeks before so we’ve decided 6 months before is reasonable to pay a deposit and book…exciting! :-D

The weekend ahead…

Firstly I have been a little lazy with my blog the last few days, I really haven’t had the time to keep up, possibly something to do with having an 8 month old who climbs onto everything….still, I’m back now!

So tomorrow I am meeting with Bridesmaid H to brainstorm a few hen party ideas & get the guest list sorted. I personally think its a good idea to give people as much notice as possible for the hen party so they can save up if they need to…..then they can’t really use the “I couldn’t afford it excuse” most people can save £10 a month.
The bride wants a typical cheesy Hen Night so I will let you know what we come up with…

Then Saturday the Bride is staying over at mine for a night of wedding gossip :-) Possibly over a glass of wine or two, gossip & wine go hand in hand dont they.

I’ll be back Sunday with the results :-)

I have a dream!

Well technically ‘had’ a dream. Last night. It was very random. All about the wedding.

I was in church, not a bridesmaid ( :-( ) and the bride walked down the aisle in a blue pair of trousers and a long white vest top with blue flowers on it !?!? She then made a speech about how beautiful her dad looked! The brides dad will look very good in his suit I’m sure but ‘beautiful’ maybe not!

The first hymn was then played, it was a Christmas song and everyone started line dancing to it! Very random!!

Does anyone know what any of that means? Let’s just hope it wasn’t a premonition!
